X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Join local artist Kara Razek to explore wa
tercolors and create an expressive floral bouquet for a handmade greeting
card.&nbsp\; In this class you will create expressive flowers on the front
of a 5&rdquo\; x 7&rdquo\; watercolor card with a clear envelope to prese
nt to a loved one or friend.&nbsp\; Instead of a formal watercolor class\,
Kara will offer playful exercises to create and capture the essence of a
flower bouquet. A live floral bouquet to copy and photographic inspiration
will be provided. This class will cover the general method of using water
color wet in wet\, loading the brush and seeing soft and hard edges\, whil
e also exploring the relationship of watercolor to different papers. No ex
perience with watercolors is required.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;<strong> </strong></p>
\n<p><strong>Supplies will be provided. Registration Required.&nbsp\;</str

through the generosity and funding of the Rath Creative Arts Fund of the B
 exley Community Foundation.</em></p>\n<p><strong>Kara Razek</strong> is a
Bexley-based artist originally from Kansas City\, Kansas\, who moved to Co
lumbus\, Ohio in 1987 to attend the Columbus College of Art &amp\; Design
(CCAD). She graduated with a Master of File Ans (MPA) in 1992. Kara's appr
oach to painting is primarily alla prima-working quickly and intuitively\,
with no rigid routine. Her work is rooted in realism\, but she embraces e
xperimentation and the freedom to explore new techniques. As a member of a
vibrant group of plein-air artists (Central Ohio Plein-Air and Ohio Plein
Air Society) Kara enjoys painting in the city and local parks\, sharing b
oth the successes and challenges of the process. Together\, they celebrate
the diversity of their interpretations\, each artist capturing the essenc
e of a scene in their own unique way. Recently\, Kara has expanded her pra
ctice to include still-lite painting\, focusing on florals and fruit. This
shift allows her to explore the nuances of oil painting without the const
raints of changing light in the outdoor environment. Working in the studio
\, where she can control lighting for extended periods\, has given her a d
eeper understanding of the medium and allows for a more relined approach t
o color and form. Kara's work continues to evolve as she seeks to balance
the immediacy of plein-air painting with the focused study of still life\,
always driven by a deep curiosity\, love of learning and a passion for ca
pturing the world around her.</p>\n<p>Kara's artwork is on display in Bexl
ey Public Library's lobby from March 6th through April 29th.</p>\nhttps://
