X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Join us for a talk on all things rock clim
bing in the natural state! Cole Fennel will share his climbing knowledge a
nd discuss the newest edition of his guidebook Rock Climbing Arkansas - We
stern Crags.<br />Books will be available for purchase and signing.</p>\n<
p>Cole Fennel caught the rock climbing bug his senior year in high school
and almost instantly fell for it. It didn&rsquo\;t take long to realize ro
ck climbing was much more than a sport or a hobby. During a multi-year sti
nt in Colorado\, Cole was in the Rockies on the local rocks or on the road
and almost exclusively trad climbed. He took annual trips to Hueco Tanks
and sport climbed here and there\, but the majority of his non-work time w
as spent in places like Eldorado Canyon and Rocky Mountain National Park w
ith a few long stints in Yosemite Valley and the Moab area. Cole and his w
ife Mary returned to Fayetteville in 2007. After returning to Arkansas\, C
ole worked on a comprehensive roped climbing guidebook to his home state.
Since the release of &ldquo\;Rock Climbing Arkansas: Comprehensive Roped C
limbing and Select Bouldering&rdquo\;\, Cole&rsquo\;s focus has shifted en
tirely to developing. He has hiked and scrubbed a ton of boulders over the
last few years\, but he is most psyched hanging on a rope with drill in h
is hand bolting choss.</p>\n<p>This program is free and open to the public
.<br />All abilities are welcome. For disability accommodations\, call 479
 .856.7250 or email questions@faylib.org 2-3 weekdays before a program.</p>
