DESCRIPTION:Make a collaborative zine in this hands-on workshop..\nhttps:/
 /squamishlibrary.libnet.info/event/12898166
X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Co-facilitated by zine enthusiasts Trish K
elly and Rachel Bergquist\, this hands-on workshop will introduce the pers
onal zine format. Personal zines are the&nbsp\;autobiographies of the zine
world.</p>\n<p><br />By the&nbsp\;end of the workshop each participant wi
ll&nbsp\;have written their contribution to a collaborative&nbsp\;zine we'
ll call Humans of Squamish\, complete with a selfie taken with the library
's polaroid&nbsp\;camera.</p>\n<p><br />Trish Kelly will start off the wor
kshop by sharing her own experiences writing nearly 25 zines. Her zines&nb
sp\;chronicled&nbsp\;her experiences growing&nbsp\;up as a queer punk kid
in Vancouver in the 1990s. Trish will share how writing&nbsp\;her heart in
to her own zines connected her to an international community of zinesters\
, taking her to zine fairs and a zine tour\,&nbsp\;and eventually providin
 g opportunities&nbsp\;to publish her autobiographical stories in&nbsp\;leg
 it books.</p>\n<p><br />Participants will enjoy a table of cut-and-paste s
upplies to help them make a page or two for the collaborative zine. Expres
s yourself with alphabet stamps\, markers\, or try a manual typewriter. We
'll also supply writing prompts that can help you get started in sharing y
our own story as a Human of Squamish.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>This is a hands-on
program\, and written instructions that support the flow of the workshop w
ill be provided.</p>\n<p></p>\n<hr />\n<p><strong>Accessibility at this ev
