Entrepreneur\, philanthropist\, and activi st\, Madam C.J. Walker rose from poverty in the South to become one of the wealthiest African American women of her time. She used her position to a dvocate for the advancement of black Americans and for an end to lynching.
\nWalker contributed to the YMCA\, covered tuition for six African American students at Tuskegee Institute\, and became active in th e anti-lynching movement\, donating $5\,000 to the NAACP&rsquo\;s efforts. Just prior to dying of kidney failure\, Walker revised her will\, bequeat hing two-thirds of future net profits to charity\, as well as thousands of dollars to various individuals and schools.
\nDaisy defines her role as a Historical Interpreter because she becomes that character. \; She dresses like the character \; from that particular time period and weaves their story to the audience from birth to death. \; She eng ages the audience through every phase of their life. \; The audience&n bsp\; will be right there to laugh\, cry\, sigh\, and cheer as the charact er unfolds right in front of their eyes.
\nDaisy has appear ed in venues that include the National Defense Organization\, Belmont Mans ion\, National Archives\, Sojourner Truth House\, Theodore Roosevelt Natio nal Historic Site\, the Helicopter Museum\, and numerous schools\, librari es\, museums and historic sites throughout the United States.
