 ldquo\;climate change&rdquo\; are varied and have dire consequences for bo
 th plant and animal life.</p>\n<p>Our expert scientist\, Paul Chan\, has a
  PhD in atmospheric science\, concentrating on climate. During his career\
 , he held several positions within the US government dealing with the worl
 d&rsquo\;s climate and weather. He conducted climate research and was Dire
 ctor of NASA Goddard&rsquo\;s Earth Science Data Center. While at the US D
 epartment of Agriculture\, he developed an approach for assessing agricult
 ural vulnerability. As Chief Information Officer for the National Weather 
 Service\, he developed a solution for flood hazard-risk reduction. In reti
 rement\, he founded and is CEO of Climate Decision\, a company helping cli
 ents reduce loss and improve business continuity under threats of weather 
 and climate hazards. He is also a Visiting Scientist in Sun Yat-sen Univer
 sity in Guangzhou\, China.</p>\n<p>After an initial review of the overall 
 climate situation\, Paul will address questions supplied in advance by the
  organizing team as well as by interested parties during the registration 
 process. In addition\, time will be set aside for a half hour of questions
