Author's Biography

\n< p>Mireille Sylvain-David\, a Haitian-American with a unique blend of roles as a sociologist\, writer\, and poetess\, graduated from Florida Internat ional University. She is the founder and executive director of the Haitian -American Youth Organization of Kendall (HAYO)\, a nonprofit cultural orga nization dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Haitia n culture in Miami's diversity.

\n

Mireille Sylvain-David's literary works\, including the novels "Il Faut Sauver Elizabeth (1999)\, Pures et T roublantes Vé\;rité\;s (2003)\, Beyond the Rubbles (2011)\, an d the poetry collection "Une Vie en Poé\;sie/ A Life with Poetry(198 0)\, have significantly influenced the world of literature. Her most recen t publication\, A Quest For Love\, Law\, and Order (2020)\, was published by Kyskeya Publishing. She has also published her bilingual rubrique: Hait ian Reality/ Ré\;alité\; Haitienne in different magazines and on the internet.

Despite her duty as a mother and wife\, Mireille Sylvain-David has always found time to champion Haitian culture and commun ity services. Her commitment is evident in her 29-year \; \; free advisory service to the Haitian Students Organization (HSO) and the Intern ational Graduate Students Club at Florida International University\, \ ;where she worked for 34 Years.

Before coming to Florida\, she liv ed in New York and graduated from Geneva School of Business with a degree in Secretarial Administrative Business. She worked for the American Founda tion for the Blind\, where she discovered New York's humanitarian side. Sh e also worked in the Senegal mission to the United Nations and the Chad Em bassy in Washington\, DC\, where she learned specific rules of diplomacy.& nbsp\; \;

Mireille Sylvain-David's love for literature and cul ture is deeply rooted in her family heritage. She inherited this passion f rom her father\, the renowned Haitian dramaturge Marcel L. Sylvain\, the a uthor of the iconic song "Haiti\," a cherished patrimony of Haitian cultur e. This connection to her roots has shaped her profound understanding and appreciation of Haitian culture.
