Volunteers from AARP&rsquo\;s Free Tax Pre paration Service are available to help you by appointment only at the Cent ral Library on Thursdays and Saturdays\, the Tarea Hall Pittman South Bran ch on Mondays and Wednesdays \, and the West Branch on Fridays starting Fe bruary 5th.

At the Central Library\, you will meet with a tax prep arer to discuss your return\, then you will wait elsewhere in the library while the preparer takes your documents and completes the return. If the p reparer has any questions\, or when your return is ready\, the preparer wi ll call or text you on your cell phone. \;

At the branch libra ries\, you will remain with the tax counselor while your return is prepare d.

Please read these 3 questions to determine if AARP Tax Aide can help you:
&bull\; Do you plan to file Married Filing Separately and lived together for any part of 2024?
&bull\; Do you have rental INCOM E?
&bull\; Did you reside outside of California any time during 2024?

If your answer is "yes" to any of these questions AARP Tax Aide w ill not be able to help you with your taxes. \; Contact TaxAide.AARP.o rg or call 888-227-7669. \; They may be able to suggest other options.

If your answer is "no" to all 3 questions you can go on to make a n appointment. \; Please be sure to give us a current cell phone numbe r and email address as a tax aide volunteer will contact you before your a ppointment. \; This contact is an essential part of the tax preparatio n process\, so we can make sure you bring all the appropriate forms with y ou and answer any questions you have. \; Providing your email address will allow us to send a pdf of the Intake Booklet you need to complete and print prior to your appointment. \; No email address and printer? Ple ase pick up a packet at the Library before your appointment. \; In ord er to maximize the number of returns that we prepare we require that your Intake Booklet be completed before your appointment.
