 an American &amp\; African Studies at OSU\, and Jack Marchbanks\, WCBE&nbs
 p\;<em>Jazz Sunday</em> producer and host\, will be in conversation lookin
 g back on Malcolm X's life\, activism\, and evolving legacy on his 100th b
 irthday.</p>\n<p><strong>About the Presenters:</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Ju
 dson L. Jeffries&nbsp\;</strong>is Professor of African American and Afric
 an Studies at The Ohio State University. He earned his PhD in political sc
 ience at the University of Southern California. Professor Jeffries&rsquo\;
 s interests include police-community relations\, race and medicine to stat
 e violence and revolutionary movements of the 1960s. He is the author\, co
 -author\, and editor of 12 books\, many journal articles\, including guest
  editing the&nbsp\;<em>Malcolm X&nbsp\;</em>special issue of&nbsp\;<em>Jou
 rnal of African American Studies</em>&nbsp\;published in September 2020\, 
 as well as book chapters and newspaper articles. Dr. Jeffries is also the 
 editor-in-chief of <em>Spectrum: A Journal on Black Men</em>.</p>\n<p><str
 ong>Jack Marchbanks</strong>&nbsp\;is the former Director of the Ohio Depa
 rtment of Transportation and a longtime host and producer of <em>Jazz Sund
 ay</em>\, a weekly\, three-hour radio program on WCBE (90.5 FM). Marchbank
 s earned his Ph.D. in History from Ohio University\, where his dissertatio
 n examines the lives\, advocacy\, and influence of prominent jazz musician
 s\, writers\, and activists - including Malcolm X\, during the American Ci
 vil Rights Movement.&nbsp\;He helped establish the Rahsaan Roland Kirk Sch
 olarship for the Arts along with his wife\, Alice Flowers\, Candice Kirk-H
 owell\, and Bob Weiler. Marchbanks centered his doctoral dissertation on j
 azz artists&rsquo\; advocacy and financial support of the American Civil R
 ights Movement. Marchbanks has noted\, &ldquo\;Jazz is an American treasur
 e and our most important cultural export to the world. The melodies and ar
 rangements created by its peerless artists are soul-enriching and timeless
