 gpl.ca/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Friends of the Guelph Publi
 c Library wesbite">Friends of the Guelph Public Library</a>\, the organiza
 tion that brings you the annual giant book sale in support of our library\
 , wants to change that.</p>\n<p>It&rsquo\;s time to acknowledge and explor
 e our thriving literary scene. To that end\, we&rsquo\;re presenting the f
 irst of two panel discussions moderated by <a href="https://vocamus.net/" 
 target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Vocamus Press wesbite">Vocamus Press
 </a> publisher Jeremy Luke Hill.</p>\n<p>Panelists will read from their re
 cent work\, talk about their craft and discuss the impact that living in G
 uelph has on their careers. A Question and Answer period with the audience
  follows. Books from the featured authors will be available for purchase.<

 t="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Jeremy Luke Hill profile">Jeremy Luke Hil
 l</a> will host the event. Jeremy is the Managing Director at Vocamus Writ
 ers Community and the Publisher at Gordon Hill Press/The Porcupine's Quill
 . He is also the author of several chapbooks of poetry\, bringing unique w
 riter/publisher perspective to his moderator role.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><
 span style="text-decoration: underline\;">Chapter Two:</span></p>\n<p><a h
 ref="https://www.instagram.com/adamhonsinger/" target="_blank" rel="noopen
 er" title="Adam Lindsay Honsinger's Instagram">Adam Lindsay Honsinger</a>&
 nbsp\;is a writer\, musician and visual artist. He is the author of three 
 books of fiction\, "Gracelessland" (Enfield and Wizenty\, 2015)\, "Somewhe
 re North of Normal" (Enfield and Wizenty\, 2018) and "Giving Up the Ghost"
  (Porcupine's Quill\, 2024).</p>\n<p><a href="https://www.ottbookstore.com
 /" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Lisa Browning's website">Lisa Bro
 wning</a>&nbsp\;is the founder and publisher of One Thousand Trees. She is
  dedicated to empowering and uplifting people through storytelling. Her pu
 blishing company aims to create a space where people are seen\, heard and 
 valued\, and where the stories of those who have endured hardship and emer
 ged stronger can be shared. An author herself\, she is planning a new work
  that we can expect this year.</p>\n<p><a href="https://maryswan.ca/" targ
 et="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Mary Swan's website">Mary Swan</a> is a 
 novelist and short story writer who worked for many years at the Universit
 y of Guelph library. Her novella\, "The Deep"\,&nbsp\;won the Malahat Revi
 ew novella contest in 2000 and received the 2001 O. Henry award for short 
 fiction.&nbsp\;Her novel\, "The Boys in the Trees"\,&nbsp\;was inspired by
  a historical incident in Guelph\, and was shortlisted for both the 2008 S
 cotiabank Giller Prize and the Amazon First Novel Award. Mary&rsquo\;s lat
 est book\, "My Ghosts"\, was published by Knopf Canada in 2013.</p>\n<p><a
  href="https://www.deeparajagopalan.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" t
 itle="Deepa Rajagopalan's website">Deepa Rajagopalan</a> won the 2021 PEN 
 Canada New Voices Award for her short story\, &ldquo\;Peacocks of Instagra
 m&rdquo\;\, which is now part of her new Giller-nominated book. Her writin
 g has appeared or is forthcoming in literary magazines such as "The New Qu
 arterly"\, "Room Magazine"\, "The Malahat Review"\, "Arc Poetry Magazine"\
 , "EVENT magazine"\, "The Quarantine Review" and the anthologies "Bristol 
 Short Story Prize 2023"\, and "The Unpublished City Vol. II."</p>\n<p>Come
