Dr. Hannikainen will review the variety of targets that appear in the late February sky above Dedham. When you look up into the night sky\, not everything you see is either a star or a plane t (or the Moon). There are many other types of celestial objects. For most \, you&rsquo\;ll need either binoculars or a telescope. But even if you&rs quo\;re stargazing without equipment\, it&rsquo\;s always inspiring to kno w what that fuzzy pinpoint of light is that you&rsquo\;re looking at. &nbs p\;

Dr. Diana Hannikainen is a former profe ssional astrophysicist who specialized in radio and X-ray astronomy. She c urrently serves as the Editor in Chief at Sky &\; Telescope ma gazine based in Cambridge\, MA. The February issue is the 1\,000th in the history of the magazine\, which has been published monthly without a break since 1941.
