 decided to fight against humiliating\, harassing\, and illegal work enviro
 nments. Their movement became national and is a largely forgotten story of
  U.S. twentieth century history.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>This event is made possibl
 e by Illinois Libraries Present (ILP)\, a statewide collaboration among pu
 blic libraries offering premier events. ILP is funded in part by a grant a
 warded by the Illinois State Library\, a department of the Office of Secre
 tary of State\, using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and L
