Read to a Dog is a great way for children to practice oral fluency\, spend time with a friendly dog\, and have fun. The goal is to help build a child's self-esteem and confidence\, as well a s foster a fondness for reading.
\nChildren ages 5 to 12 can sign up for a twenty-minute session where they will read aloud to a gentle dog pr ovided by the Alliance of Therapy Dogs\, a nonprofit all-volunteer organiz ation.
\nRead to a Dog will be held in West Branch's Community Room on March 6\, March 13\, March 20\, and March 27 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. Ple ase call 510-981-6270 or visit the West Branch to sign up.
