 t the artist:&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Pierre Sylvain is a self-taught multi-media a
 rtist represented throughout the country in both solo and group shows. He 
 works with different mediums including paintings\, tile\, stained glass\, 
 textile\, and found objects and has been recognized publicly for his advoc
 acy and impact reflecting current social issues. Mr. Sylvain is the Galler
 y Director and Curator for the Charter Oak Cultural Center\, serving the m
 ission of elevating the importance of art in healing society by providing 
 access to highly skilled artists and students who may otherwise not have e
 asy access and visibility in the greater community. His award-winning art 
 is most recognized for how it makes people feel and brings communities tog
 ether. He was the recipient of the Middletown Art Advocacy Award.</p>\n<p>
 His work are in private and public collections\, including at Wesleyan Uni
 versity\, Middletown CT\; Charter Oak Cultural Center\, Hartford CT\; Midd
 letown Town Hall\, Middletown CT\; Russell library\, Middletown CT\; and B
