The CU Spinne rs and Weavers Guild \; started over 50 years ago as a small club. Since then\, they have grown into an organization dedicated to \; pro moting the fiber arts in the community through education\, demonstrations\ , and sales. \;
\nAs part of the Boneyard Arts Festival\, the CU Spinners and Weavers Guil d will be at the library showcasing their fiber artistry. Stop by to see s pinning and weaving in action! The artists will also be exhibiting finishe d artwork. \;
\nFrom the CU Spinners and Weavers Guild:< /strong> As spinners and weavers\, we are lucky enough to have the ability to start with a raw material&mdash\;fleece fresh off the sheep&mdash\;and turn it into a finished piece of cloth ready to be worn. We will have mem bers showing all steps of the spinning and weaving process\, including pre paring fiber\, spinning it into yarn\, and weaving the yarn into cloth. By watching the process from beginning to end\, we hope that people will gai n a better understanding of what goes into making cloth\, whether it is ma de by hand or by machine. We will also have demonstrations of other fiber arts\, including knitting\, crochet\, and more!
