 per and inks\, participants in this workshop will create layered artworks 
 with a graphic\, illustrative aesthetic. Participants will learn various c
 arving strategies for relief block printing\, along with compositional str
 ategies for combining shape-based elements with more detailed prints and p
 apercuts. All materials provided. <br /><br />This workshop is offered in 
 conjunction with Laura Peturson and Andrew Ackerman's collaborative exhibi
 tion\, <a href="https://ideaexchange.org/cambridge-art-galleries/exhibitio
 n/keeping-time"><strong>Keeping Time</strong></a> on view at the Queen's S
 quare Gallery from March 15 - May 31\, 2025. <br /><br /></p>\n<p><strong>
 About the Instructor:</strong> Laura Peturson is an artist based in Callan
 der\, Ontario\, Canada. She holds a BFA from York University in Toronto an
 d an MFA from the New York Academy of Art in New York. Laura&rsquo\;s stud
 io practice integrates drawing\, painting\, small-scale traditional printm
 aking formats and large-scale\, print-based installations. Her works are n
 arrative in nature\, with references to the archetypes and stylistic conve
 ntions of golden age illustration. Her work reflects the ways the domestic
  spaces we inhabit as children form our identity and a conception of our p
 lace in relation to family\, geography\, and nature. Her home of Northern 
 Ontario is central to her work\, and her interests include ecological syst
 ems\, representations of landscapes\, and the relationship between environ
 ment and culture. Laura&rsquo\;s work has been exhibited widely in Canada\
 , USA\, and internationally. Recent presentations of her work include solo
  exhibitions at Alberta Printmakers Gallery (Calgary\, AB)\, Galerie Ateli
 er Circularie (Montr&eacute\;al\, QC)\, and Station Gallery (Whitby\, ON).
  Laura is an Associate Professor in the Fine Arts program at Nipissing Uni
 versity in North Bay\, Ontario.<br /><br /><strong></strong></p>\n<p>Prese
