 <p>Alvin Pondexter was born in Tallahassee\, Florida\, growing up between 
 there and Miami\, Florida.&nbsp\; He received his Bachelor of Arts from Fl
 orida A&amp\;M University (Tallahassee\, Florida) in Art Education\, with 
 a minor in Fine Arts.&nbsp\; Upon graduation\, he continued with graduate 
 studies at the University of Wisconsin (Madison\, Wisconsin)\, earning bot
 h a Master of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts degree (recognized as the ter
 minal degree in the Visual Arts).</p>\n<p>He taught in the Art History and
  Arts Department at Florida International University (FIU) as an Adjunct P
 rofessor\, teaching visual art classes and one art history course. &nbsp\;
 It was at FIU that he &nbsp\;designed a course (which he taught) in art hi
 story\, &ldquo\;Introduction to the Visual Arts of The African World (ARH 
 3511).&nbsp\; Before FIU he taught at Florida Memorial University as an As
 sociate Professor of Visual Arts\, the Department of Visual and Performing
  Arts.&nbsp\; While during his tenure at FMU\, he taught classes as an adj
 unct professor for Nova Southeastern University (NSU) at its South Miami c
 ampus\, and the University of Nassau\, in the Bahamas.</p>\n<p>His works o
 f art have been exhibited throughout Miami-Dade County\, Fort Lauderdale\,
  West Palm Beach\, and Tallahassee Florida.&nbsp\; In addition\, he has ex
 hibited in Madison and Milwaukee Wisconsin\, and Atlanta Georgia. He has d
 one book illustrations\, one by author Otis D. Alexander\, &ldquo\;Cicley:
 &nbsp\; The Life Journey of a Great Thespian\," and provided several poeti
 c pieces in his book\, &ldquo\;Second Coming or Second Trade-Off:&nbsp\; C
 ontemporary &amp\; Relevant Literature During the pandemic.&rdquo\;</p>\n<
