 BTQ people in a form that was often overlooked as childish or silly. Today
  comic books make up an archive of queer history. From the early undergrou
 nd &ldquo\;comix&rdquo\; to the popular superheroes Batwoman\, Iceman\, Jo
 n Kent and America\, this lecture considers the history of queer comics an
 d characters.</p>\n<p><a href="https://www.vzullo.com/">Valentino Zullo</a
 > is Assistant Professor of English\, co-director of the Rust Belt Humanit
 ies Lab\, and the Anisfield-Wolf Fellow in English and Public Humanities a
 t Ursuline College. He is Associate Editor of the <em>Journal of Graphic N
