 uare or fat quarter\, preferably in a light solid color</li>\n<li><strong>
 Thread</strong>: 1 color of sashiko thread in a contrasting color from the
  fabric. <em>Please note: The following may be used to substitute sashiko 
 thread -- Pearl cotton thread size 8 or embroidery floss (separated into 4
