This event is bein g hosted at Parsons Theatre in collaboration with Northglenn Arts. Parsons Theatre is located inside Northglenn Recreation C enter at 1 E. Mem. Pkwy Entrance\, Northglenn\, CO 80233.  \;

Poetry Slam Competition Rules \;

    \ n
  1. Each poem must be original to the participating poet. \; \;\n
  2. Each poet has three minutes \;to read one poem. There will be a 10-second grace period. If the poet goes over time\, points will be ded ucted from the total score by the scorekeeper. For every 10 seconds passed over time\, \;0.5 points will be deducted from the total score. \ ;
    3. \n
  3. The poet may not use props\, costumes\, pre-recorded/taped mus ic\, or musical instruments while performing. Performers are allowed \ ;to sing\, beatbox\, and make any other sounds with their bodies during th e performance. \; \;
    4. \n
  4. In the event of a tie\, the top two poets will face off in a final round\, so poets should come prepared with at least two original poems they are willing to perform. \;
    5. \n\n

    Audience members of all ages are welcome to come cheer on the poets! Come have fun connecting with other poetry lovers and youth in your community. No registration is necessary to \;attend as an audience member.

    All ages are welcome to attend the Poetry Slam\, but only youth 24 years old and younger will be allowed to perform/compete. This event is fr ee of charge and will be hosted in English. \;

    Regla mento del Concurso de Poesí\;a

    1. Cada poema de be ser original del poeta participante.
      2. \n
    2. Cada poeta tiene tres mi nutos para leer un poema. Habrá\; un periodo de gracia de 10 segundo s. Si el poeta se pasa del tiempo\, se deducirá\;n puntos del puntaj e total. Por cada 10 segundos que el poeta se pase del tiempo\, se deducir á\;n 0.5 puntos del puntaje total.

    3. El poeta no puede usar objetos adicionales para la interpretació\;n\, disfraces\, mú\ ;sica pregrabada o instrumentos musicales durante su presentació\;n. Los ejecutantes pueden cantar\, hacer sonidos vocales o cualquier sonido con el cuerpo durante su presentació\;n.

    4. En caso de un emp ate\, los primeros dos poetas competirá\;n en una ronda final\, de m odo que deben venir preparados con por lo menos dos poemas originales que esté\;n dispuestos a presentar.

    Miembros de la audiencia de todas las edades ¡\;son bienvenidos a animar a los poetas!. Ven a div ertirte y a conectarte con otros jó\;venes y amantes de la poes&iacu te\;a en tu comunidad. No es necesario inscribirse para asistir como parte de la audiencia. \;

    Todas las edades son bienvenidas a as istir al Concurso de Poesí\;a\, pero solo jó\;venes de 24 a&nt ilde\;os y menores pueden participar y concursar. Este evento no tiene nin gú\;n costo y se llevará\; a cabo en inglé\;s.
