 and author with a doctorate in jurisprudence from Louisiana State Universi
 ty. He has written six books on French culture\, including <em>Une Saga Ac
 adienne</em> (2005)\, the first biography of Acadian exile Beausoleil Brou
 ssard. This work also chronicles his personal efforts to obtain an apology
  from the Queen of England for the Acadian deportation\, culminating in th
 e Royal Proclamation signed on December 9\, 2003. Warren and Mary Perrin h
 ave co-authored 3 additional books: <em>Acadie Then and Now\, A People's H
 istory</em>\, and <em>Seeking an Acadian Nation</em>\, the 1930 Diary of a
 n Evangeline Girl.</p>\n<p>Mary Perrin\, co-author of <em>Healing Traditio
 ns of South Louisiana</em> is a Master Gardener. Along with being an autho
 r\, Mary is a visual artist and former educator. She has worked in the col
 lections of the National Museum for Women in the Arts in Washington\, DC\,
  the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans\, a branch of the Smithso
 nian\, and the Louisiana State Museum.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>In recognition of hi
 s contributions\, Mr. Perrin was appointed a member of the National Order 
 of Merit by French President Jacques Chirac in 1999.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p></p>\n
