X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Art Exhibition Open for viewing April 2 -
May 19</p>\n<p>Awe is something which many of us have experienced but whic
h is hard to describe. It involves profound feelings of reverence\, of won
der and a sense of connection to something much larger than oneself. Scien
tists have discovered that experiencing awe is good for our mental and phy
sical health. As one person said\, &ldquo\;awe both elevates and grounds u
s.&rdquo\; Those who have studied the phenomenon of awe recommend that we
seek to find moments of awe in the everyday world that surrounds us. Artis
ts have been doing this forever. We are constantly looking around for insp
iration\, examining our world to find something that is interesting\, beau
tiful or amazing &mdash\; in other words something that is a little bit &l
dquo\;awesome.&rdquo\; It could be something as magnificent as a fiery sun
set\, as delicate as a tiny flower\, or as moving as a mother&rsquo\;s ten
der gaze upon her child. Our aim is to capture what we see and feel and co
nvey its essence to others. We welcome you to our show and sincerely hope
you find something that sparks wonder or inspires a<br />little bit of awe
in you.</p>\n<p>Pacific Arts Group is a juried group of 29 plein air and
studio painters who live on or near the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The group
has been active for fifty years\, though the membership has changed over t
ime. Our members create landscapes\, portraits\, still lifes\, florals and
abstract works in a wide variety of media\, including oils\, pastels\, wa
tercolor\, acrylics\, and pen and ink. We meet most Wednesdays for field t
 rips\, paint-outs\, critiques\, demos and workshops\, and social activitie
