Poetry Slam Competition Rules

  1. Each poem must be original to the participating poet. \;
    2. \n
  2. Each poet has three minutes to read one poem. There will be a 10-second grace period. If the p oet goes over time\, points will be deducted from the total score by the s corekeeper. For every 10 seconds passed over time\, 0.5 points will be ded ucted from the total score.
    3. \n
  3. The poet may not use props\, costume s\, pre-recorded/taped music\, or musical instruments while performing. Pe rformers are allowed to sing\, beatbox\, and make any other sounds with th eir bodies during the performance. \;
    4. \n
  4. In the event of a tie\ , the top two poets will face off in a final round\, so poets should come prepared with at least two original poems they are willing to perform.

Want to come to watch and support? \; Audience members of all ages are welcome to come cheer on the poets! C ome have fun connecting with other poetry lovers in your community. No registration is necessary to attend as an audience member. \;

All ages are welcome to attend the Poetry Slam\, but onl y adults 18 years old and over will be allowed to perform/compete. This ev ent is free of charge and will be hosted in English. \;

Regl amento del Concurso de Poesí\;a

  1. Cada poema d ebe ser original del poeta participante.
    2. \n
  2. Cada poeta tiene tres m inutos para leer un poema. Habrá\; un periodo de gracia de 10 segund os. Si el poeta se pasa del tiempo\, se deducirá\;n puntos del punta je total. Por cada 10 segundos que el poeta se pase del tiempo\, se deduci rá\;n 0.5 puntos del puntaje total.
