\nNguyen&rsquo\;s powerful storytelling explo res themes of identity\, memory\, and belonging\, offering profound insigh ts into the Vietnamese diaspora and the broader Asian American experience. His Pulitzer-Prize-winning novel\, The Sympathizer\, was recentl y made into a successful television show on Max. His newly published memoi r\, To Save and Destroy: Writing as an Other\, is "a moving and u nflinchingly personal meditation on the literary forms of otherness and a bold call for expansive political solidarity" (from the publisher). Other honors for his work include the Dayton Literary Peace Prize\, the Andrew C arnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction from the American Library Associat ion\, the First Novel Prize from the Center for Fiction\, and the Asian/Pa cific American Literature Award from the Asian/Pacific American Librarian Association. \;
\nIn addition to his writing\, Viet Thanh Nguyen is the Aerol Arnold Chair of English and a Professor of English\, America n Studies &\; Ethnicity\, and Comparative Literature at the University of Southern California.
