Thi s class is a \;two-day \;course (a total of 8 hours)\, with Sessio n One on Monday\, June 9\, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Session Two on Tues day\, June 10\, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Attendance is mandatory for both d ays to be eligible for the certificate of completion. Please bring your Dr iver's License and AARP Membership Card (if applicable) to Session One.
\nGeneva Public Library District is partnering with AA RP to offer their Smart Driver&trade\; Course. This classroom driving refr esher course\, designed for drivers aged 55+\, has assisted millions of ma ture drivers to stay safe. The objective of the course is to help particip ants drive safer and therefore keep their licenses longer. \;Topics in clude:
\n--Understanding the normal effects of aging on driving and
practical ways to compensate for those changes.
--Driving strategies
for the mature driver.
--Identifying the most common crash situations
and how to avoid them.
--An update on the rules of the road\, vehicl
e accessories\, and local traffic hazards.
Geneva Public Library will cover the cost for resident s of Geneva with a current GPLD library card.
\nThis course n ow includes new videos and updated course content\, ensuring you will have the most up-to-date information. There are no tests required to pass the course.
\nThis program is for 4 hours each day:
