According to the US Department of Homeland Security\, human trafficking involves the use of force\, fraud\, or coerc ion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. Every year\, milli ons of men\, women\, and children are trafficked worldwide &ndash\; includ ing right here in the United States. It can happen in any community and vi ctims can be any age\, race\, gender\, or nationality. \; Local organi zations like the University of Toledo's Human Trafficking and Social Justi ce Institute and REACH (Northern Ohio's Regional Efforts Aimed to Combat H uman Trafficking) are tackling this issue in our community. \; Join us for a discussion on Human Trafficking: how it affects Toledo and Lucas Co unty\, our state\, and our communities.
\n\nThe \;Steinem Sisters Collection \;champions women&rsquo\;s historical\, cultural\, and political contributions and strives to provide a welcoming space for women from all walks of life to share their truths. It is composed of &ldq uo\;feminist materials\,&rdquo\; intersectional works that uphold human an d women&rsquo\;s rights and interests in defining and promoting political\ , economic\, personal\, and social equality of the sexes\, races\, classes \, sexual orientations\, and genders. The Steinem Sisters Collection has g rown to over 900 titles in the ten years since its inception. Regular prog ramming\, including book discussion groups and talking circles\, aims to h ighlight the collection and build community. This collection was possible due to a generous donation by The Steinem&rsquo\;s Sisters Collective.
