This workshop with Natasha Rao invites wri
ters of all experience levels to transform your memories into poems. We&rs
quo\;ll use work from published poets as loose templates\, delving into th
e rich territory of the past
to generate our own drafts in a supporti
ve setting. Whether you want to capture a moment from childhood\, a place
you once visited\, or a piece of history\, this interactive workshop will
explore ways to preserve memories in meaningful and unexpected ways.
Natasha Rao is the author of \;Latitude\, which was selected by Ada Limó\;n as the winner of the 2021 APR/Honickman First Book Prize. T he recipient of a Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation and a 2025 Individual Artist Fellowship from The Ne w Jersey State Council on the Arts\, she has also received fellowships fro m Bread Loaf\, the Sewanee Writer\; Conference\, and the Vermont Studio Ce nter. Her work appears in \;The Nation\, \;The Atlantic\, \;Th e New York Times Magazine\, \;American Poetry Review\, and elsewhere. She holds a BA from Brown University and an MFA from NYU\, where she was a Goldwater Fellow. \;She is currently Co-Editor of the literary and ar ts magazine American Chordata.
