Why should kids have all the fun? Explosio n books are a favorite in children&rsquo\;s art activities. Join local art ist Dana Grubbe as she leads us in creating an abstract & ldquo\;explosion.&rdquo\; All the materials will be provided but if you ha ve some special papers\, photos\, or printed materials you want to include \, bring them. Dress for art! We&rsquo\;ll be using glue sticks\, markers\ , and scissors.

Artist Statement< br />&ldquo\;I paint to explore color\, texture\, and the landscapes&mdash \;both real and imagined&mdash\;that have shaped my life. Growing up in th e Appalachian hills\, the Sonoran Desert\, and India\, I developed a fasci nation with alternate worlds. A career in technology came first\, but free access to NYC&rsquo\;s museums sparked the question: &ldquo\;How hard can it be to make this?&rdquo\; That curiosity led me to painting.
\nNo w\, my contemporary abstracts vibrate with bold color and dynamic process. I work in oil\, acrylic\, ink\, and encaustic\, always pushing materials in new directions. My studio at 400 West Rich is both a workspace and a te aching space\, where I guide private students. I studied art at CCAD and O SU after retirement and in 2023 became a Creativity Coach. My work is in t he Santa Fe Museum of Encaustic Art and Bexley Public Library&rsquo\;s Cir culating Art Collection. I&rsquo\;m represented by Hayley Gallery in New A lbany and exhibit at Art@43023 in Granville. For me\, painting is discover y&mdash\;each piece a new adventure.&rdquo\;
