Discover ho w to paint on denim\, sew fashion patches onto clothing\, and add sequins\ , beads\, or fabric swatches to express your unique style. Revive an old p air of denim pants\, a jean jacket\, denim shorts\, or similar items. Plea se bring a denim piece from your wardrobe to upcycle.

Dominique Ko ngsli (Ovalle) (she\, her\, ella) is a multidisciplinary artist and educat or. Her mother taught her how to sew when she was a child\, and she took a fashion design class in high school. She didn&rsquo\;t have much money fo r clothing during high school\, so she upcycled\, modified\, and created h er own garments from fabric and thrift store finds. In college\, she earne d money by painting designs on friends&rsquo\; clothes.

She studie d studio art at Pepperdine University in Malibu\, California\, and earned a master&rsquo\;s degree in studio art at Claremont Graduate University. S he is a classically trained oil painter and a former street artist. \;
