The summer doldrums are here! They&rsquo\; re keeping the \;birds quiet and tempting us indoors. We&rsquo\;re par tnering with the Feminist \;Bird \;Club DMV and invite you to join us for their next meet-up playing Wingspan\, the fun board game about&nbs p\;birds created by local game designer \;Elizabeth Hargrave. \;Jo in us to play \;birders seeking to attract the best \;birds to our network of wildlife preserves. Each habitat in the game is associated wit h an action (gaining food\, laying eggs\, drawing cards). Each \;bird& nbsp\;that you play makes you better at those actions\, \;triggering i ts own power each time you use its habitat.
\nWe&rsquo\;re meeting o n Saturday\, August 23rd from 1pm to 4pm at the Martin Luther King\, Jr.\, Library\, room 401-G on the fourth floor. \;
\nWingspan beginne rs are welcome! No prior experience required\, but we do recommend \;< a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgDgcLI2B0U" title="Link to youtub e video demonstrating how to play Wingspan for beginners">watching a YouTu be clip before attending to get a sense of the game. If you own \; a copy of \;the game and want \;to bring it\, that would be great! More games mean we can have more players\, so please let us know here:&nb sp\;adultservices.dcpl@dc.gov.
\nWe ask that everyone participating wear a mask so that those who are immunocompromised in our community can a ttend.
