P ittsburgh writer Damon Young's debut memoir\, What Doesn&rsquo\;t Kill You Makes You Blacker: A Memoir in Essays (Ecco)\, won the Thurber Prize for American Humor. A founder of the culture blog Very Smart Brothas and creat or and host of the Crooked Media podcast Stuck with Damon Young\, Damon ha s been a contributing columnist for The Washington Post Magazine\, a contr ibuting opinion writer for The New York Times\, and a columnist for GQ. He was also the inaugural writer-in-residence at the University of Pittsburg h's David C. Frederick Honors College.

\nPanama Jackson is an award-winning writer\, author \, and columnist for theGrio.com\, and host of the Dear Culture podcast on the Grio Black Podcast Network. He is also an adjunct lecturer at Howard University. Panama is co-founder and former senior editor of the award-win ning website VerySmartBrothas.com\, cited as &ldquo\;the blackest place on the internet&rdquo\; by The Washington Post. He graduated from Morehouse College with a degree in economics and holds a master&rsquo\;s degree in p ublic policy from the University of Maryland\, College Park. He really enj oys getting paid to be Black for a living.
