 he outdoor industry. A leading whitewater rafting guide in far-flung regio
 ns of Zambia\, Ethiopia\, the Philippines\, Peru\, Chile\, Costa Rica\, In
 dia\, and the Western United States. Her work has been featured in magazin
 es such as <em>Westways\, National Geographic Adventure\, Trail Runner\,</
 em> and Patagonia&rsquo\;s blog\, The Cleanest Line\, among others. In <em
 >The River&rsquo\;s Daughter\,</em> we follow a young Crocker on a grippin
 g and inspiring adventure through adversity as she finds empowerment throu
 gh her relationship with the rivers she navigates as one of the world&rsqu
 o\;s foremost female rafting guides.</p>\n<p>Elle Johnson is a TV writer a
 nd executive producer whose credits include "Law and Order" and "CSI Miami
 ." Johnson&rsquo\;s 2021 debut memoir\,<em> The Officer&rsquo\;s Daughter\
 ,</em> is the story of family tragedy and forgiveness.</p>\n<p>Together\, 
 Crocker and Johnson will discuss the parallels they faced while navigating
  hardship and tragedy.</p>\n<p>Showcase: Local Authors Series is an extens
 ion of the Malibu Library Speaker Series. It is a free program of LA Count
 y Library and the City of Malibu. The program features published authors w
 ho live and write in Malibu. Copies of <em>The River's Daughter</em> will 
 be for sale at the event.</p>\n<p>Attendance is limited\, and advance regi
 stration is required. Please register every individual in your party\, inc
