Gail will give a presentation and answer q uestions as Colorado suffragist Sarah Platt Decker. Mrs. Decker was respon sible for many of the legal reforms affecting women and children in this s tate\, and became widely known for her work in this field\, later being th e first woman appointed to the Civil Service Commission of Colorado. She w as the president of the General Federation of Women's Clubs\, and the only woman invited by President Theodore Roosevelt to the Governors' Conferenc e on the Conservation of Natural Resources. She was being touted as a poss ible candidate for the United States Senate when she suddenly passed away in 1912. Today she is remembered through the local chapter of the Daughter &rsquo\;s of the American Revolution.
