Writing can be lonely work. It&rsquo\;s th e glare of a computer screen or the scratch of a pen across an empty page. And how do you know whether a story is working? At some point\, it&rsquo\ ;s time to share. \;
\nConsider us your sounding board. Our fict ion workshop will meet once a month for six months to offer and receive fe edback. Each time we gather\, a selection of group members will present wr iting\, so participants must commit to reading up to 30 pages ahead of our meetings. \;
\nWe&rsquo\;ll talk about where the story comes al ive\, and why\, and unpack your questions\, so when you return to the draf t alone at your desk\, you&rsquo\;ll feel energized\, fresh-eyed\, and hop efully\, inspired.
\nPlease commit to attending at least five of the six classes in order to help create this generous and supportive communit y. Space is limited and registration is required.
\nAnnmarie Kelly is the author of \;Here Be Dragons\, a memoir about the wonderful misery of raising children. She also hosts \; Wild Precious Life\, a literary podcast about making the most of the time we have. Annmarie teaches at Stanford\, Tri-C\, and Ashland Universit y where she works with incarcerated students trying to obtain their degree . She&rsquo\;s received support from the Ohio Arts Council\, Tin House\, a nd the Martha&rsquo\;s Vineyard Institute\, and in 2024\, she was named bo th an Erma Bombeck and Ernest Hemingway Writer-in-Residence. Annmarie live s in Shaker Heights where she&rsquo\;s currently writing a book with the g host of her father.
