  writer. A historian by training\, she has a Masters degree in Early Moder
 n History from King&rsquo\;s College London. Her research projects have ta
 ken her on a variety of adventures\, from documenting an enslaved communit
 y at a historic Maryland plantation to uncovering the stories within her o
