 leaf\, a spiral\, a key&mdash\;that can become a kind of visual shorthand
for something much more meaningful. This workshop will get you thinking ab
out what symbolic imagery feels personal and impactful for you\; then you&
rsquo\;ll design and create a stamp of your very own to ink up &amp\; shar
 e everywhere&ndash\; letters\, journal pages\, books\, etc.</p>\n<p>Stamp-
making challenges us to think about negative space &amp\; mirror imaging a
s we create&ndash\; negative space is the area around your design that hel
ps define it&mdash\;think of it as the silence that makes the music stand
out. In stamps\, the background space is just as important as the image it
self. When you create a stamp\, you&rsquo\;re carving into a surface that
will be flipped when stamped onto paper. That means your design needs to b
e drawn in reverse\, especially if it includes text\, arrows\, or directio
nal imagery. This activity is a great challenge for your brain as well as
a fun exercise in personal preference&ndash\;you&rsquo\;ll leave with a sy
mbol of who &amp\; what you are to share and make your mark!</p>\n<p><stro
