 Michael John Neill earned a bachelor&rsquo\;s and master&rsquo\;s degree f
 rom Western Illinois University in Macomb\, Illinois. He began genealogica
 l research in the early 1980s\, studying both his and his children&rsquo\;
 s families and has published books and lectured nationally on the topic si
 nce the late 1980s. His interests include methodology\, land records\, the
  immigrant experience\, and reaching female ancestors\, and is known for h
 osting annual trips to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and th
 e Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne\, Indiana. Michael is also the
  creator of the popular <a href="https://genealogytipoftheday.com/">Geneal
 ogy Tip of the Day</a> which shares individual tips on a multitude of gene
 alogy research topics and problem-solving each and every day by email.</p>
