Otto Moser&rsquo\;s pub on East 4th \; Street was far more than a tavern. Generations back\, it also was the go-t o hangout for an astonishing number of visiting vaudevillians: actors\, at hletes\, singers\, dancers\, magicians\, and comedians who were appearing at one of downtown Cleveland&rsquo\;s 60+ theaters (that&rsquo\;s not a ty po: At one time\, some five dozen theaters operated in or near our city&rs quo\;s center).
\nDuring their visits\, more than 650 of those celeb rities left behind a (usually signed and sometimes dated) photograph of th emselves. Those images graced Otto Moser&rsquo\;s walls and display cases for more than a century\, mystifying thousands of patrons who wondered who those people were and what they meant to Cleveland&rsquo\;s entertainment history.
\nMr. Moser&rsquo\;s Neighborhood: The Intersection of Cleveland and Vaudeville \;is the never-before chronicled story of vaudeville&rsquo\;s heyday in Cleveland (roughly 1885-1930) told largel y through profiles and photos of the myriad superstars who\, photographica lly speaking\, lived in Otto Moser&rsquo\;s restaurant. It is a light\, no n-fiction chronicle\; a historical picture book\; and a time machine throu gh which readers can access period audio and video via QR links.
