 n<p>Brian Muirhead is a leader in the field of deep space exploration. Cur
 rently\, he is Chief Architect for the Mars Sample Return campaign\, Jet P
 ropulsion Laboratory's effort to study and develop the key technologies ne
 eded to return samples from the surface of Mars\, a goal never before atte
 mpted. He is an award-winning leadership innovator with deep experience le
 ading high-performance teams. He led the team at the NASA/Jet Propulsion L
 aboratory that built the Mars Pathfinder that landed on the red planet to 
 worldwide acclaim on July 4\, 1997.</p>\n<p>Brian has delivered front-page
  results while solving problems that seemed impossible. A recipient of two
  of NASA's Outstanding Leadership Medals\, Brian was the Chief Architect o
 f NASA's Constellation project\, a program with the objective of establish
 ing a permanent base on the moon and preparing for human exploration of Ma
 rs. He was Chief Engineer of the Mars Science Laboratory during the invent
 ion of the Sky Crane\, which was used to land the rover "Curiosity" on Mar
 s\, and he was Chief Engineer of JPL.</p>\n<p>Brian is the author of two b
 ooks\, <em>Going to Mars</em> and <em>High Velocity Leadership</em>.</p>\n
