In the winter of 1913\, more than 24\,000 men\, women and children marched out of Paterson\, New Jersey&rsquo\;s sil k mills calling for decent working conditions\, an end to child labor\, an d an eight-hour day. Pietro &\; Maria Botto offered their home as a mee ting place for strikers. Upton Sinclair\, Elizabeth Gurley Flynn and other champions of labor spoke to workers of many nationalities.

Evelyn M. Hershey\, Education Director at the American Labor Museum\, will tell us about this historic labor action which lead to reforms in the workplace broadly enjoyed by Americans today.
