The book recounts the struggles of the Williamson and Grigg families to retain ownership through drought\, depression and acquisition for closer s ettlement. They also played significant roles in the Geelong Football Club and The Australian Flax industry.  \;This talk will also include some historical information on the First Nations community in this area. \ ;

Ann Hodgkinson\, PhD\, had an academic career\, specialising in regional economics. In later years\, she studied local and family history and now works with the Bellarine Historical Society\, researching early pr operties in the area.
