Peter Bronson\, former editor and columnis t at \;The Cincinnati Enquirer\, will discuss his book \;Promised Land\, \;which tells the exciting story of the first pioneers who risk ed starvation and Indian attacks to settle in the Northwest Territory (wha t is now Ohio). Among the heroes is &ldquo\;Mad Anthony&rdquo\; Wayne\, wh ose victory at Fallen Timbers opened the western expansion of the United S tates by establishing outposts for protection such as Fort Wayne.

Peter Bronson is a newsman\, editor\, magazine writer\, author and o
wner of Chilidog Press publishing.
He has written nine books\, includ
ing Promised Land (2024)\, The Man Who Saved Cincinnati (2023)\, Not in Ou
r Town (2022) and Forbidden Fruit (2020). He was editorial page editor and
columnist for The Cincinnati Enquirer for nearly 20 years. Under his lead
ership the Enquirer was judged Best Editorial Page in Ohio four years in a
row.
Before coming to Cincinnati in 1992\, he was editorial page edi
tor and columnist at The Tucson Citizen in Tucson\, Ariz. He started his c
areer in Michigan after graduating from Michigan State University in his h
ometown of East Lansing.
He was a regular panelist/producer on the Ch
annel 9 WCPO TV show Hotseat\, and also on the weekly Tucson news show Ari
zona Illustrated. He is active as a group leader at Horizon Community Chur
ch and enjoys golf\, travel and his classic Camaro. He is the father of tw
