X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p><em>Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde</em> is a well
-known tale of a good man going bad. People know the concept of 'Jekyll an
d Hyde' as a catchphrase for a double life\, and generally see it as a sho
cking horror story. In this presentation\, Jim Gould and Ted Hazelgrove de
epen this understanding\, taking the tale as a meditation that challenges
us to think about morality and personal happiness as well as the normal ps
ychological processes that unleash the human impulse toward cruelty. By re
visiting this story\, they offer attendees a new perspective that stimulat
es social understanding and self-awareness.</p>\n<p>Jim Gould and Ted Haze
lgrove team taught classes in Ethics and Literature at McHenry County Coll
ege in Crystal Lake for 20 years. They have published on <em>Jekyll and Hy
de\,&nbsp\;</em>and have presented community programs like this for severa
l years.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Photography Policy: By attending one of the Librar
