\nAbout the Presenter: \;< /strong>Dr. Torsten Jacobsen is an orthopedic trauma surgeon with deep fir sthand experience in disaster zones worldwide. Born in China and raised in Denmark\, he trained first as a veterinarian at UC Davis before completin g medical school and an orthopedic residency at UCSF. He served as a traum a surgeon overseas with the rank of major\, and later as associate profess or of orthopedic surgery in the Netherlands. His work has taken him to cri ses such as the 2010 Haiti earthquake\, the Loma Prieta quake\, and Califo rnia&rsquo\;s Camp and Tubbs wildfires. Through international missions&mda sh\;both as a physician and a Rotarian&mdash\;he has focused on women&rsqu o\;s health and cancer care\, and has partnered with organizations like SI GN to improve trauma care in Africa.
