 r of 60 critically-acclaimed books of fiction including the upcoming Easy 
 Rawlins novel\, Gray Dawn\; as well as works of nonfiction\, memoir\, and 
 plays. His work has been translated into 25 languages. From the first nove
 l he published\, Devil in a Blue Dress with protagonist Easy Rawlins\, Mos
 ley&rsquo\;s work has explored the lives of Black men and women in America
 &mdash\;past\, present\, and future. He has had several of his books adapt
 ed for film and tv including Devil in a Blue Dress\, Always Outnumbered\, 
 Always Outgunned\, and the Apple TV+ production of The Last Days of Ptolem
 y Grey starring Samuel Jackson. His short fiction and nonfiction essays ha
 ve been published in a wide range of outlets including the New York Times\
 , the Los Angeles Times\, and The Nation. He is also a writer and an execu
 tive producer on the John Singleton FX show\, Snowfall and filming has jus
 t completed on the adaptation of Man in My Basement\, starring Willem Dafo
 e and Corey Hawkins.</p>\n<p>He is the winner of numerous awards\, includi
 ng an O. Henry Award\, The Mystery Writers of America&rsquo\;s Grand Maste
 r Award\, a Grammy\, several NAACP Image awards\, and PEN America&rsquo\;s
  Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2020 he was named the recipient of the Rob
 ert Kirsch Award for lifetime achievement from the Los Angeles Times Festi
 val of Books and was awarded the Distinguished Contribution to American Le
 tters Award from the National Book Foundation.</p>\n<p>In 1998\, Mosley an
 d the City College of New York (CCNY) created The Publishing Certificate P
 rogram. Created to address the critical issue of diversity in the book pub
 lishing industry\, the program brings together the rich variety of racial\
 , ethnic\, and cultural experiences of the students of CCNY with professio
 nals in the industry who provide courses in core principles and skills nee
 ded to begin careers in the book industry.</p>\n<p>Born and raised in Los
