Experience the magic of Diwali with a spe cial reading of The Spirit of Diwali by local author Smita Bhanda ri. Perfect for children ages 5+\, this engaging story will introduce youn g readers to the joy and meaning behind the Festival of Lights and suggest s how to prepare for it.

We'll then turn up the fun with a guided dance session to a lively Diwali song\, where kids (and grownups!) can joi n in\, meet others and learn some traditional Indian dance moves.

After the dance\, children can express their creativity by participating i n a Diwali-themed craft activity\, where they'll get to make something spe cial to take home. Plus have your hand decorated with henna.

Don't forget to come dressed in your most colourful clothes\, and if you're fee ling adventurous\, try wearing an Indian-inspired outfit to get into the f ull Diwali spirit!

There will also be a chance to purchase a copy of The Spirit of Diwali and have it signed by the author herself. This is a wonderful opportunity to support a local writer and give your child a ke epsake from this vibrant cultural celebration.

Living in Australia my daught er has limited exposure to Indian culture and traditions.
