nd up. Registering for this event admits you to two sessions\, Saturday Se
pt 6th as well as Sunday Sept 7th. \;
All particip
ants must have a waiver signed by their legal guardian before participatin
g in this event. Participants are encouraged to bring the following: Swims
uit\, towel\, water\, snack\, and sunscreen. \;
This workshop series is designed for teens and young adults to explore whitewater kayaki ng through a supportive and inclusive environment. This weekend workshop w ill be taking place in an enclosed pool where you can comfortably release yourself from your kayak\, start some basic strokes and above all\, \; have fun! You will then learn how to put together the pieces of a roll and work on stroke techniques. Participants will gain foundational kayaking s kills\, learn essential water safety\, and build confidence in the water. Led in partnership between Vá\;monos Outside and Bend Kayak School\, the program emphasizes cultural belonging\, outdoor adventure\, and commu nity connection on Central Oregon&rsquo\;s waterways. There will also be&n bsp\;three optional outdoor river sessions that VO and BKS will offer to r egistrants. \;
\nVá\ ;monos Outside connects Latinx and BIPOC communities in Central Oregon to the outdoors through culturally relevant programs\, mentorship\, and c ommunity events. They work to ensure equitable access to nature and outdoo r recreation\, empowering youth and families to feel a sense of belonging and leadership in outdoor spaces. \;
\nBend Kayak School provides a supportive learning env ironment. They share their love of rivers with others because they believe those magical places transform \;lives. They work with small group si zes and customized learning techniques. \;
