Cimarrones\, established in the fall of 20 09 in response to the underrepresentation of bomba and plena in New Jersey but more specifically in Central and Southern New Jersey\, will offer a l ive musical stage bomba and plena performance for Hispanic Heritage Month.

Cimarrones is one of the most sought after bomba and plena ensemb les in New Jersey. \; Cimarrones will engage the audience\, create hig h energy and educate them about bomba and plena. Nelson Baez\, Founder and Director of Cimarrones\, says &ldquo\;At our performances we believe that we are not there to entertain but rather to build Community with our audi ences. \; Our audiences are expected to participate either by playing an instrument\, singing\, or dancing which is the essence of Bomba."
