 el Pugh Taylor Writer-in-Residence. The program allows established authors
  time to work on their craft and mentor fellow writers from the Hamilton c
 ommunity.</p>\n<p>Saumiya is an eclectic writer of essays\, poems\, featur
 es\, and recently award-nominated picture books for children: <em>When I F
 ound Grandma</em>\, <em>Two Drops of Brown in a Cloud of White</em> and <e
 m>When I Visited Grandma</em>. Trained as a software scientist\, Saumiya a
 lso has a passion for writing.</p>\n<p>Saumiya is the winner of a Spiritua
 lity and Practice Award\, a Steppingstones Honour Award\, a FOLD Kid's Boo
 k of the Month. She was nominated for an Ezra Jack Keats Award\, a Marilyn
  Baillie Picture Book Award and is a recipient of the Bluma Appel scholars
 hip from the Humber School of Creative Writing. Saumiya's books were featu
 red in the Globe and Mail's Seven Books to Help Kids Make Sense of the Wor
 ld\, the CBC's 29 Canadian Kid's Books and YA to Look For\, and the Toront
 o Public Library's First and Best Under Five twice.</p>\n<p>Everyone is we
 lcome to attend. <a href="https://epicbooks.ca/">Epic Books</a>&nbsp\;will
  be on-site selling books for signing after the event.</p>\n<p>The Mabel P
 ugh Taylor Writer in Residence is a partnership with McMaster University\,
  McMaster Libraries and Hamilton Public Library.</p>\n<p><span style="back
