 he steps of creating a handsewn saddle-stitch booklet and leave with their
  own creations! Saddle-stitch binding refers to books made of folded pages
  bound in the centerfold\, typically with staples or bookbinding thread. W
 e&rsquo\;ll work with waxed and linen bookbinding thread\, as well as need
 les\, awls\, bone folders\, and other bookbinding materials to sew a simpl
 e three-stitch blank journal or booklet of their own original writing or a
 rt. The library will provide all materials\, including blank paper for int
 erior and cover options. This craft is for all skill levels\, particularly
  those with little to no bookmaking or sewing experience. Additionally\, w
 e&rsquo\;ll discuss the many different methods of bookbinding and see exam
 ples of various bindings\, from the DIY to the professional.<br /><br /><s
 trong>REGISTER AHEAD OF TIME!</strong><br /><br />Registration is recommen
 ded for all\, and required for those who would like to make a booklet of y
 our own writing or art. Participants have the option to make a blank journ
 al or a booklet of their own original writing or art. If you would like to
  make a booklet of writing or art\, you must email the workshop instructor
  ahead of time to ensure that the booklet is formatted and printed correct
 ly. The library will coordinate the printing\, and the maximum number of p
 ages is 40. <strong>If you're interested in making your own booklet of wri
 ting or art\, please register online at least two weeks in advance of the 
 workshop.&nbsp\;The instructor will follow up to get more information and 
 coordinate printing.</strong><br /><br />Be advised\, we will be using sha
 rp materials\, such as awls\, needles\, scissors\, paper cutters\, and mou
