Heise's watercolors depict the native flora and fauna found in Florida. Her colorf ul and vibrant depiction of native plants and animals reminds us of the na tural wonders found in our State\, and the need to protect them.
\nI 'm a watercolor artist who paints Florida native plants and animals. The d elicacy of watercolor helps me to capture intricate details\, and to depic t native species with beauty and scientific accuracy. The plants and anima ls in my work are often common local native species that we see every day\ , but are often not taught about. I hope my work inspires people to know\, love\, and protect our local nature. \;
\nI grew up in South Fl orida\, and earned my BFA degree in painting from FAU in 2016. I have been painting Florida native plants and animals for the past 9 years\, and wor ked with many local conservation organizations. I've helped create colorin g books\, trail signs\, maps\, logos\, zines\, trail guides\, public mural s and other resources. Some groups I&rsquo\;ve worked closely with include The Everglades Foundation\, Bound by Beauty\, the City of West Palm Beach &rsquo\;s ArtLife program\, Into Nature Films\, LandscapeDE\, Florida Nati ve Plant Society\, Tropical Audubon\, and South Florida Wildlands Associat ion. My work has been shown in South Florida locations\, including The Fra nk Gallery\, Flamingo Gardens\, History Ft. Lauderdale\, Biscayne Bay Natu re Center\, and The Kampong\, and libraries in Broward and Palm Beach coun ty.
